In the Hostel

In the Hostel

So we have an apartment! In Glebe, which is very exciting. We’ll be living with 3 people from France and it should be good times. The price was right ($200/week) and it’s a 4 bedroom with a living room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a study. So there should be plenty of space. 2 of the Frenchies are in a relationship so they’ll be sharing one room. We’re hopeful it’ll work out; they seem very nice.

We’ve been planning to go to the beach for the last couple days but the weather just hasn’t co-operated. So yesterday was spent reading, watching downloaded TV shows and curling up in our hostel beds. We found the library yesterday morning in an attempt to get some free wifi and while it worked, it was s-l-o-o-o-o-w so I’m resigning myself to paying for better speed hostel wireless.

We’re tired of hanging around the hostel though so today we’re going to take a walk to Glebe to see our future neighbourhood. Kelly loves it there but I haven’t seen it before so I’m looking forward to seeing what is it like. Apparently it is a little like Halifax. I will take pictures for everyone.

Finally got Skype so everyone can add me if they’re like to chat. I’m Emma_Justine. I talked to Eric for a little bit today and it was good to see his face and see kitty. Definitely being hit with pangs of heartache at missing out on events in Toronto but this is what I signed up for.

Still attempting to upload some pictures to Flickr but it’s taking too long. I think I’ll just steal them off Facebook and use lower quality.

This was the plane we flew on from LA to Fiji and Fiji to Sydney. Ive never been on a double-decker plane!

I shocked myself at the hostel. Stupid converters.

I'm indignant at their choice of colours for Salt & Vinegar chips. It should ALWAYS be blue and/or green in colour!

So that’s our first few days in a nutshell!
